Chef Tournant
The Client
Our client is well established within the hospitality industry and is looking for a Chef Tournant to join their kitchen brigade. The chosen candidate will be a direct link between the Head Chef & the Sous Chefs and his/her assigned production areas.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensuring that all safety and environmental protection regulations are followed
  • Ensuring all communication, standards, policies, and expectations are communicated to the team and then executed flawlessly
  • Checking if all food is correctly prepared, of the highest quality, to the correct recipe and in the correct quantity
  • Maintaining an organising an efficient flow of production, with regards to changes in forecasts and menus
  • Overseeing the kitchen staff as a middle manager.
  • Ensuring that all stocks are kept under optimum conditions with proper rotation, storage temperatures, and correct storing procedures 
  • Consistently checking the temperature in foods and follows proper procedures in regards to chilling, re-heating, and holding food
  • Checking outlets to determine status of outstanding safety, or equipment issues
  • Adjusting production levels to meet forecast demands
Requirements
  • Minimum 2-3 years experience in a similar role
  • Relevant qualification from ITS
  • Excellent team player
  • Proactive and thrives on creativity
  • Highly organised able to work under pressure
  • Knowledgeable about all Health and Safety and food handling procedures
  • Computer literate
