Accounts Assistant
The Client
Our client is a language school with offices in Malta. They are seeking to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join their team. 
Key Responsibilities
  • Regular checking of timesheets to ensure that employees' hours are complete and accurate
  • Payroll processing - calculating all earnings and making sure that deductions, sick pay, and direct credits are accounted for and accurate
  • Updating employee records related to leaving, sick leave, salary changes
  • Ensuring that all employee details inputted in the payroll system are accurate and correct
  • Keeping up with all tax procedures and laws to ensure that the company is sending the correct information to the IRD
  • Completing and sending all ETC Forms
  • Keeping a proper filing system
  • Assisting new employees in obtaining work permits for non-EU staff
  • Creditors checking of invoices and posting in Sage with the correct VAT codes
  • Issuing of payments both local and foreign
  • Checking of exchange rates when dealing with foreign invoices
  • Checking of supplier’s statements
  • Bank and Intercompany Reconciliations
  • Posting of Daily Cash
  • Debtors Intercompany invoices
  • At least 1-year experience in a similar position
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications especially Excel and Outlook
  • Good knowledge of Sage and Dakar systems will be considered an asset         
  • Fluent in Maltese and English is a must 
  • Be meticulous and have an eye for detail
  • Responsible and able to deal with confidential information
